Senior FHIR Integration Engineer

Description

We're looking for a senior engineer who lives and breathes healthcare interoperability. You'll design, build and certify interfaces between our clients' platforms and the EHRs care teams run on — Epic, Oracle Health, PointClickCare and athenahealth — over HL7 v2 and FHIR R4.

Requirements

• 5+ years building healthcare integrations in production
• Deep HL7 v2 and FHIR R4 experience (resources, profiles, conformance)
• Strong in a modern backend stack (Node, Java or .NET) and SQL
• Hands-on with at least one major EHR's integration surface
• Comfortable with PHI handling, audit trails and BAA-ready design

Nice to have

• Experience with an interface engine (Mirth, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf)
• SMART on FHIR / OAuth2 in a clinical context
• Exposure to clearinghouses, labs or pharmacy interfaces

Responsibilities

• Build and certify HL7 v2 and FHIR R4 interfaces end to end
• Map clinical data models between disparate systems
• Own interface monitoring, error handling and reprocessing
• Work directly with client architects and clinical stakeholders
• Mentor mid-level engineers on interoperability patterns
